Farhad Manjoo for Slate:
If you study the PC industry over the past five years, you find only one company that had the means, motive, and opportunity. Apple killed the netbook, more or less single-handedly, and we should all be grateful for it.
Turns out, there were only two problems with netbooks:
1) Using them was a shitty experience.
2) Selling them was a shitty business.
Shocking that they ultimately failed. (And that Apple was right for not getting into the business in the first place.)
Here’s a clever way to mass-unsubscribe from spam, marketing emails, newsletters, and other stuff you don’t want clogging your inbox.
- In Gmail, do a search for “label:inbox unsubscribe OR email preferences OR subscribed OR newsletter” (without the quotes)
- Select (checkbox) the emails you want…
Brilliant.
Great idea!
I think this book or something similar is turning into an essential for every programmer these days
One of my favourite Mongo resources. Makes using Mongo a piece of cake :-)
Quiet time away from everyone. Or a hug from a loved one.
Can’t wait to try this awesome looking hot dog
A good alternative to the built in ruby functions URI.escape and URI.unescape.
Not that it does anything differently.
